Obviously the Wellington Sewing Bloggers love to sew…and blog about it…but you know what else we love?
Yum char!
So when some much needed rain threatened to…err, rain…on our parade picnic we switched it up for something else we all love: Eating!
And you know what? The plan worked! Today it is raining! Not a lot and I’m not sure how much good it’s doing but it is a start.
Also, we had our biggest group ever, clearly the promise of yummy food out of the rain helped 😉
Here we are at Made Marion, exhausted after too much mango pudding and rummaging through a huge pattern /fabric swap:

Oh I am sorry I didn’t make it. Issue with late work plans in other countries for JJ and no alternative for kid sitting available. Bugger. Still, I will will will shift heaven and earth to come to the next one.
And I want to try Mango Pudding! And Yum Char. And return your mags ….*embarrassed*….
That’s ok, no stress here 🙂 We are planning Yum Char for the May meet so we’ll make sure you get introduced to Mango Pudding awesomeness then 🙂
Yay, looks like fun, would love to try to join one time.
Trish
It was! You should definitely come along some time, do you get over the ditch often? We can absolutely arrange a meet around your next visit 🙂
Thanks! I nearly got there in January but I mucked up my dates! I saw Kat. We come every Summer x
Looks like fun!!
I highly recommend trying to find some local sewing friends, you just have the best fun and it is so inspirational even though we don’t sew, just talking and fabric shopping and pattern/ideas swapping, helping each other out with questions 🙂
It’s true. I attended my first sewing meet-up (blogged about it here: http://gjeometry.com/2013/02/27/sewing-bloggers-united-for-a-meet-up/ ). It was so great to be able to talk with like minded folks. So often, I get that ‘blank stare’ from friends who do not sew and have no interest in hearing about it, lol.
Ahh the “blank stare”, so true! 😀
I am glad you are initiated in the meet ups, I’ve only just started following you so thank you for the link.
So much fun meeting everyone 🙂
And great to meet you in IRL too 🙂 I can’t wait until next month!
What fun to get together! And I recognised both you and Nikki straight away!!
It was so fun, I really miss the Perth girls so it’s great to find an equally awesome bunch of girls in Wellington! 🙂
Mmmm … mango pudding. Nice to see you, and meet some new friends.
Mmmm mango pudding, I am looking forward to May’s Yum Cha meet already!
That’s so cool that you guys have meet ups! I wish there was something like this in Auckland!
You should just throw it out there, must be lots of sewing bloggers in Auckland too? Kiwis unite! 🙂 And if you are ever down this way let me know, we’d love to invite you along too 🙂
Yay! I would love to come along. I do end up coming to wellington about twice a year. I’ll send you an email next time I am 🙂
Oh yes, please do 🙂 We’ll make sure we time a meet just for you, it will be so much fun xx
Naw thanks! I’m looking forward to it!
And wasn’t it fabulously fun? 🙂
So much fun! 🙂
Awesome super impressed with you all would love to that in chch although we do try to get together as a generic group. Lovely to find some new blogs
Meeting up with other crafty/sewing girls is just the best thing – you’ll have to let me know if you are ever up here, we’d love to invite you along 🙂
